BCCI STICKS TO ITS BAN DESPITE THE CHARGES BEING DROPPED IN THE COURT AGAINST THE CRICKETERS...Though Delhi Patiala House Court has dropped all the charges of spot-fixing, Conspiracy & cheating that were levelled against S Sreesanth, Ankit Chavan & Ajit Chandila. Surprisingly BCCI makes it clear to the media that the judgement has no bearing on their stand and sticks to its life ban on three cricketers that lacks justification now which certainly is highly undemocratic and against their fundamental rights to play for the country after it has been proved beyond doubt that they are not guilty in the eyes of the law. As usual, this verdict too causes huge embarrassment to the investigating cops of the case and sends a clear signal about the dubious integrity of Indian police yet again.
If the cricketers who seem desperate to make their comeback, decide to challenge the ban in the court later they can surely trounce BCCI & win again and get their place back in the team which is their constitutional right if they are innocent. It is sad that there is no provision in our law to punish those cops who prepared charge sheet against these players for which they had to spend quite some time in the jail during the probe.
